Our range of 7 1/4 inch gauge rolling stock is based on our tried and tested passenger carriages. Some of which are in daily use on our own railway. New for 2006 - These carriages can be delivered before Easter 2006 if ordered before the end of Jan 06! The 'First Class' Carriage - Based on the Lynton and Barnstaple open bogie wagons This is our new design sit astride carriage, it uses our reliable equalising bogies but it has the appearance of a narrow gauge plank wagon complete with planked sides which prevent people putting their feet out of the train. In appearance this carriage looks similar to a Lynton and Barnstaple Railway bogie coal wagon. Our wagon has a great amount of detail present including strapping on the sides and end panels. The usual safety features of derailing bars, anti tip bars and non slip floors are present on this carriage. The carriage is supplied in your choice of colour with upholstered seats. Signwriting is available as an optional extra. We have just delivered 3 of our new first class carriages to the Sanday Light Railway in the Orkney Islands and have received an order for a further 3 to be supplied to the same railway. Price - unbraked £1650 Price - vacuum brakes on one bogie £1900 The 'Classic' Carriage This 8 foot long sit astride carriage is the classic design seen in use on many railways for many years, our model incorporates our modern design equalising bogies and safety features such as derailing bars and anti tip bars. The body is made from exterior plywood and painted in enamel in the colour of your choice. There is a two part padded removable seat giving access to bogies and any brake equipment. The footboards are wide enough to accommodate the largest foot! and made from anti slip aluminium tread plate.
